Loving Our Neighbors

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandments.  And the second is like it; Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. (Matthew 22: 37-40)

The Women of Excellence host several community projects throughout the year.  Our goal is to partner with local organizations to serve the needs of women and families.  

Community Project Updates

The clothing drive was a huge success.  We provided 1,980 clothing items to support Central Union Mission, Center for Urban Families, Suited for Change, Women Giving Back, Community Family Life Services, Crossroads for Women and various Veterans charity.

2023 IMPACT 
You make a greater impact on women and families when you support the Women of Excellence Ministry.  Because of you, we accomplished the following in 2023: 

• 1,980 clothing items to support homeless women and men, women and families in crisis, women re-entry programs and veterans. 
• Newly created weekly food distribution program serving congregants and residents in Alexandria, Virginia.
• 2,000 sanitary napkins distributed to women and girls in support of Four Corners International Missions trip to Uganda 
• 1,700 sanitary napkins distributed to women and girls in support of Lott Carey's Mission trip to Liberia
• Distributed 200 items of men's clothing to Central Union Mission to help homeless men in Washington, D.C.
